Stéphanie invited me to submit a DOOR to the Longo'Art Automnales in October 2009- my first group show in France. I used a door from our house, with the ghosts of a previous artist owner and her wheel chair-bound husband shadowing through the glass panels... I learned about these original inhabitants of the house, from 1926 onwards, from Renée Grinda, a neighbour who was a child in the 40's- her memories are scribbled in pencil round the sketch below, and eventually on the door.

Stéphanie m'invita à exposer avec Longo'Art aux Automnales de 2009, thème 'Art aux Portes'. J'ai travaillé sur une porte de ma maison, imaginant les ombres des anciens propriétaires depuis 1926, une femme artiste et son mari en chaise roulante. C'est une voisine, Renée Grinda, enfant dans les années 1940, qui m'a raconté ses souvenirs du couple- ces détails sont écrits sur le croquis en bas, et finalement sur la porte.
